This Motel is located on the historic site which served as a military hospital, treating wounded soldiers during the American Civil War. Motel is located on the Alt US 40 highway which is known as National Pike because it follows the original alignment of the historic National Road also known as the Cumberland Road. It was the first major improved highway in the United States built by the federal government. This historic motel has been serving the travelers along the National Highway for more than 50 years. Surrounding buildings were constructed by the military and have long since been demolished.
